The state reported Saturday 29 new cases of COVID-19 for Alaska.<\/p>\n
That is the largest single-day increase reported by the state, and according to the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services<\/a>, it brings the state’s total number of cases to 654 and number of active cases to 237. So far 405 Alaskans have recovered from COVID-19.<\/p>\n Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, breathing trouble, sore throat, muscle pain, and loss of taste or smell. Most people develop only mild symptoms. But some people, usually those with other medical complications, develop more severe symptoms, including pneumonia, which can be fatal.<\/p>\n [Opinion: This pandemic is not over<\/a>]<\/ins><\/p>\n The previous single-day high was 27 new cases reported on Sunday, May 31.
