The state reported Saturday dozens of new COVID-19 cases and one new death.<\/p>\n
The new death brings the number of Alaskans who have died with COVID-19 to 16. The deceased was an Anchorage man in his 70s with underlying health conditions, according to a Department of Health and Social Services spokesperson. It is unclear when the man died.<\/p>\n
Of the 55 newly reported cases, 48 involved residents and seven involved <\/a>nonresidents<\/a>, according DHSS<\/a>.<\/p>\n No new residential cases were reported for Juneau, but a nonresident case was reported for the capital city. State data did not indicate why the person was in Juneau.<\/p>\n
