A Juneau resident had their entire freezer stolen after being scammed on Sunday, according to the Juneau Police Department.<\/p>\n
Several women knocked on the door of the victim’s Lemon Creek area residence on Sunday morning, offering residential cleaning services, said JPD Lt. Krag Campbell in an email.<\/p>\n
“He let them and then went back to bed as they cleaned,” Campbell said. “When he woke up, the freezer was gone.”<\/p>\n
The crime sounds similar to other incidents in the area, Campbell said, and JPD has a suspect.<\/p>\n
Contents of the standalone freezer just included food, Campbell said. Theft of large appliances while the victim is home is a rare occurrence, Campbell said.<\/p>\n
JPD recommends not letting strangers into an unattended residence as a means of reducing risk of theft, Campbell said.<\/p>\n
