After two days with relatively low numbers of new cases, the state again reported more than 40 new COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n
Among the cases reported Wednesday, 40 involved Alaskans and seven involved nonresidents, according to Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.<\/p>\n
The new cases bring the total number of Alaskan cases to 1,226, nonresident cases to 248 and the number of active cases to 646, according to state data. So far, 563 state residents have recovered.<\/p>\n
Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, breathing trouble, sore throat, muscle pain and loss of taste or smell. Most people develop only mild symptoms. But<\/p>\n
some people, usually those with other medical complications, develop more severe symptoms, including pneumonia that can be fatal.<\/p>\n
