(Ben Hohenstatt \/ Juneau Empire)<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=NWS&#038;issuedby=AJK&#038;product=FLW&#038;format=TXT&#038;version=1&#038;glossary=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">warning, which means that flooding is imminent or actively occurring, was issued Thursday evening<\/a>, and it is in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<p>The reason for the warning is a glacier-dammed lake outburst. The added water from t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/ajk\/suicideBasin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">he<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/ajk\/suicideBasin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Suicide Basin glacier-dammed lake <\/a>into the river system will cause Mendenhall River to rise over the next 24 hours, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<p><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A Flood Warning has been issued for the Mendenhall Lake &#038; River.
