The State of Alaska reported 95 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, 82 of which are residents.<\/p>\n

There were new cases in 22 communities with the highest numbers in Anchorage and Fairbanks, according to Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, and six additional cases for Juneau. However, because of when different agencies post their COVID data, the state’s numbers are slightly behind the City and Borough of Juneau’s own data, which showed an additional 18 cases for Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Many of those cases were reported Wednesday evening when the city announced 19 workers at the Kensington Gold Mine north of Juneau tested positive for coronavirus in the past two days.<\/p>\n

City and Borough of Juneau also reported four new cases Thursday with two of the cases being attributed to community spread, which means the illness was contracted from an unidentified source, and two cases to contact with a known case.<\/p>\n

Of the 82 residents announced Thursday, 50 are male and 32 are female, according to state data. Seven are under the age of 10; four are aged 10-19; 16 are aged 20-29; 13 are aged 30-39; 17 are aged 40-49; 11 are aged 50-59; 10 are aged 60-69 and four are aged 70-79, according to a Department of Health and Social Services press release.<\/p>\n

There are currently 46 current COVID-related hospitalizations statewide, DHSS reported, and CBJ’s coronavirus dashboard shows 1 person currently hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.<\/p>\n
