The cases are spread among 14 communities with more than half &mdash;58 &mdash;of the cases in Anchorage. In Southeast Alaska, six cases were reported for the Yakutat-Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, two in Sitka and one in Wrangell.<\/p>\n<p>While the state does not specify where cases occur in areas with low populations to avoid identifying patients, Angoon has put new mitigating measure in place following a known outbreak of the illness. <\/p>\n<p><ins>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/angoon-sees-climbing-case-count-as-testing-continues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Angoon sees climbing case count as testing continues<\/a>]<\/ins><\/p>\n<p>The state also reported three nonresident cases.<\/p>\n<p>The total number of Alaska resident cases is 5,182 and the total number of nonresident cases is 853, according to DHSS.
