Official results are in for the state primary elections, Alaska Division of Elections announced on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

About 70,000 ballots were cast in the Republican Primary and about 63,500 were cast in the Democratic Primary, according to the official results<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The results show losses for several prominent Republican state lawmakers, including Senate President Cathy Giessel, R-Anchorage. In at least one instance, a legislator who lost a tight race has said they will seek a recount<\/a>.<\/p>\n
