Gov. Mike Dunleavy is holding his weekly COVID-19 press conference at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
Dunleavy will be joined by Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development Commissioner Julie Anderson and AIDEA Executive Director Alan Weitzner, who will discuss CARES Act funding and distribution.<\/p>\n
Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Tamika Ledbetter will discuss Federal Emergency Management Agency-approved unemployment insurance benefits.<\/p>\n
Last week, it was announced that within two months additional unemployment benefits approved by the federal government would be available to some Alaskans within two months. The temporary increase of $300 will be retroactive to July when a previous federal program providing an additional $600 per week ended.<\/p>\n
