First Friday is here again, and so is the Juneau Art and Humanities Council’s open-air market.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

There will be a mix of virtual and in-person arts and culture events as well.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

To accommodate setup of the Fresh Air Market, Marine Park Plaza will be closed for parking on Friday, and City and Borough of Juneau Docks and Harbors employees will block off access to the plaza on Thursday afternoon, the city announced. Any vehicles remaining in the plaza as of 12:01 a.m. Friday may be impounded at the owner’s expense.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Here’s a full rundown of what else you can expect on the First Friday of September.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

JAHC: Virtual and Fresh Air Markets, <\/strong>4:30-7 p.m., https:\/\/www.juneauartsandhumanitiescouncil.org\/shop\/first-friday-market-\/17<\/a>, and Marine Park. The JAHC is looking for local art, crafts and produce vendors. For more information on the markets and how to register visit: www.jahc.org\/food-fest. Sealaska Heritage Institute: Pattrick <\/strong>Price,<\/strong> https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SHInstitute\/<\/a>. Sealaska Heritage will be hosting a Facebook Live Meet the Artist Q&A with Tlingit artist Pattrick Price.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

First Friday only.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Alaska State Museum: Agents of Discovery App Launch, <\/strong>the free Agents of Discovery app is available in the App Store or Google Play. The state museum partnered with the U.S. Forest Service to make the museum an Agents of Discovery mission site. Play the updated “Mission 49: Journey to Alaska’s Past” within the Agents of Discovery app either at the museum or virtually at home, and learn about Alaska cultures and history.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Juneau Artists Gallery: Mary McEwen, <\/strong>4:30-7 p.m.175 South Franklin St. September’s featured artist, Mary McEwen, will be celebrating the release of her new all-ages coloring book, “Chill Alaska Coloring Book.” Come get your copy during First Friday and receive a set of colored pencils with your purchase of the book and through the whole month of September while supplies last.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Masks are required and the number of visitors in the gallery at one time will be limited.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Coppa: Henry <\/strong>Webb<\/strong>, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., 917 Glacier Ave. Henry Webb is a woodworker and furniture maker who enjoys using hand tools. He uses mostly green local hardwood to make spoons. Each spoon is unique and he views them as functional sculpture. His basic tools include froe, ax and sloyd knife. Each spoon is finished flaxseed oil. The spoons will be hung on brackets on Coppa’s walls. Guests are invited to touch and examine them.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Annie Kaill’s: Inventory Reduction Sale<\/strong>,124 Seward St., 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Annie Kaill’s will be holding an end-of-season inventory reduction sale. Annie Kaill’s ended up with a lot of merchandise and almost no tourists, this sale is to reduce inventory with an end-of-season sale. Select merchandise will remain discounted through September or until it’s gone.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
