City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center reported Wednesday four new COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n
How the four people contracted the illness is under investigation for all four cases, the city said in a news release.<\/p>\n
Two Juneau residents who’ve recently tested positive for COVID-19 are people experiencing homelessness, according to the city. Public Health has identified seven close contacts, who are currently in quarantine.<\/p>\n
The Emergency Operations Center conducted a round of testing at the Glory Hall last Friday, Sept. 18, according to the city. All 75 tests came back negative. As a safety precaution, the city plans to conduct another round of testing for people without permanent housing this Friday.<\/p>\n
Statewide, Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported 57 cases. Of those cases, 56 people who tested positive for COVID-19 are Alaska residents and one is a nonresident.<\/p>\n
Four new hospitalizations and no new deaths were reported by the state.<\/p>\n
That brings the total of hospitalizations to 270 among residents and the number of deaths remains at 45.<\/p>\n
There have been 7,004 cases among residents and 937 among nonresidents, according to state data. So far, 2,477 residents and 254 nonresidents have recovered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
