{"id":65548,"date":"2020-11-29T22:30:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-30T07:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/4-dead-in-in-mat-su-valley-in-2-connected-shootings\/"},"modified":"2020-11-29T22:30:00","modified_gmt":"2020-11-30T07:30:00","slug":"4-dead-in-in-mat-su-valley-in-2-connected-shootings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/4-dead-in-in-mat-su-valley-in-2-connected-shootings\/","title":{"rendered":"4 dead in in Mat-Su Valley in 2 connected shootings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><ins> <em>This is a developing situation and more information will be added as it becomes available. <\/em><\/ins><\/p>\n<p>A suspect is in custody after a pair of early Monday shootings saw four dead, including two children, in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley region, according to the Alaska Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect will be identified with the filing of formal charges, the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailydispatch.dps.alaska.gov\/Home\/DisplayIncident?incidentNumber=AK20092291\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Public Safety said in a news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At just after 3 a.m., troopers received a report of shooting from a home near Wasilla, according to the DPS. Cody Roehl, 18, was reported shot and killed, and a suspect fled the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly before 4 a.m., the Palmer Police Department received reports of a disturbance, including shots fired, from a residence in Palmer. Palmer police responded and found three dead at the residence, according to the DPS. Kimora Buster, 43; Sienna Buster, 10; and Ellison Buster, 7; were identified as dead on the scene. A third child at the residence was uninjured, according to the DPS.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement officials determined the suspect from the initial shooting was the suspect in these deaths as well, according to the DPS. Troopers contacted and arrested the suspect as they were driving on the highway toward Anchorage at 4:07 a.m. local time. The suspect was arrested without incident.<\/p>\n<p>Next of kin for the dead have been notified. All parties were known and related to each other, according to the DPS.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers have assumed responsibility for the case, and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8226; Contact reporter Michael S.
