You might see a familiar face behind the front desk at the Juneau Empire.<\/p>\n
Jake Walker joined the Empire to fill the role of inside sales representative. Walker will help the Empire with processing and selling ads — including classified ads and legal notices — and obituaries.<\/p>\n
Walker is a graduate of Yaakoosgé Daakahidi High School, class of 2016, and has called Juneau home since he was 5 years old. Originally from Oregon, Jake moved to Juneau with his family, some of whom still reside in town.<\/p>\n
When not at work, Walker enjoys video games.<\/p>\n
“You could call me a gamer. I’m online a lot,” he said, but noted that during stretches of better weather he also enjoys the outdoors.<\/p>\n
He enjoys ultimate Frisbee and before coming to the Empire he worked at Home Depot. He’d like to go back to school he said, and is interested in becoming an engineer.<\/p>\n
