Juneau Public Libraries recently announced honorees in their annual book mark contest.<\/p>\n

A total of 26 youths —11 winners and 15 honorable mentions —were recognized after Juneau Public Libraries invited artists from pre-school through 12th grade to share their creative response to 2020 theme “Courage, Kindness, Strength” in the contest.<\/p>\n

The Friends of the Juneau Public Library, Hearthside Books and Juneau Public Libraries sponsor this youth art event in celebration of children’s love of books.<\/p>\n

A panel of volunteer judges reviewed 151 entries and chose one winner and honorable mentions for each grade level. Winning bookmark designs will be printed for use in the Public Libraries throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Winners from each grade level will receive a $15 gift certificate from Hearthside Bookstore. All winners and honorable mentions will receive laminated copies of their bookmark design and $5 gift certificates from The Friends of the Library Amazing Book Store.<\/p>\n

These designs will be displayed on the library webpage and Facebook page. Winner and honorable mention bookmarks can also be downloaded from www.Juneau.org\/library\/bookmark<\/a>. All bookmark entries will be posted on the front windows of Mendenhall Valley Library.<\/p>\n

— Second Grade Winner: Molly Woodruff<\/p>\n

— Honorable Mentions: Xenali Disney, Jethro Duskin<\/p>\n

— Third Grade Winner: Hazel Duskin<\/p>\n

— Honorable Mention: Addison Critchfield<\/p>\n

— Fourth Grade Winner: Saana Amundson<\/p>\n

— Honorable Mentions: Taylor Capobianco-Brinkman, Hendrix Jones, Kiana Twitchell<\/p>\n

— Fifth Grade Winner: Campbell Wilson<\/p>\n

— Honorable Mentions: Leland Stanford, Anjali Padhi<\/p>\n
