A fire call-out for Capital City Fire\/Rescue for a burning shed turned into a more protracted affair when the abutting residence’s roof insulation began to ignite as well.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

The call, coming in at approximately 12:39 p.m. on Wednesday, was for a woodshed fire Out the Road.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

“It was a shed and a boat back there. We don’t know what started first. The flame extended to the roof,” said CCFR assistant chief Ed Quinto in a phone interview. “The problem is we have to chase the flame.”<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

No injuries to man or beast were reported, Quinito said. The fire was a major call-out, Quinto said, with 25 firefighters responding.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

“The homeowner is on scene. He reported that no one was on scene,” Quinto said. “None of the dogs were in the house.”<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

CCFR’s ladder truck was also called up to help address the fire inside the roof of the building safely.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

“There’s extensive damage to the roof,” Quinto said. “We need to get into the roof. The fire is traveling in all that foam system. Nothing’s visible.”<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Fire marshal Dan Jager was on scene, Quinto said, but an explanation into the origin of the blaze could be some time in coming forth.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
