Juneau police are searching for a man and woman involved in an assault downtown earlier in the month, according to a social media post.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

Juneau police Department received a report of a robbery on Thursday, April 1, at approximately 6:22 p.m. in the afternoon.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

“The 39-year-old victim reported meeting an unknown male and female on South Franklin Street. They all went back to his apartment on Willoughby Avenue,” the post said. “Once inside, the unknown male struck the 39-year-old male in the head multiple times with what was reported to be a lead pipe.”<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

The victim suffered multiple lacerations to the back of the head, but the injuries were not life threatening, according to police. After assaulting the victim, the suspects fled the apartment.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

“As they left, the unknown male grabbed a backpack belonging to the 39-year-old male, but it was dropped soon afterwards,” the post said.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

The case is unusual, said Lt. Krag Campbell in a phone interview.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

“This is kind of a unique one. Actually robbing someone, going back to their apartment, that’s kind of unique,” Campbell said. “Typically, we don’t get a lot of robberies where someone is assaulting someone and taking their property.”<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

The suspects were unknown to the victim, Campbell said.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
