A 24-year-old man suffered serious injuries Thursday evening after a two-vehicle crash, police say.<\/p>\n
Around 5 p.m., police received a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a truck and a motorcycle in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive, Juneau Police Department said in a news release. JPD and Capital City Fire\/Rescue responded to the area, but were told that prior to their arrival the motorcycle driver was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital in another vehicle.<\/p>\n
The driver’s injuries are serious, but aren’t considered life-threatening, according to police, and his condition was stable as of Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
An initial investigation into the crash showed that a pickup truck driven by a 39-year-old woman pulled into the roadway where the man was driving a dirtbike when the two vehicles collided, according to police. The woman was uninjured.<\/p>\n
Contrary to some social media posts, the truck did not drive away after the collision, according to police. The vehicle was moved a short distance from the crash, but the driver remained on scene for police.<\/p>\n
No arrests or citations have been made, and the collision is under active investigation, according to police.<\/p>\n
