Each week throughout the summer, the Juneau Public Libraries, in collaboration with the Friends of the Juneau Public Libraries and local businesses, award young readers various prizes for writing book reviews about their favorite summer reads. During the seventh week of the Summer Reading Program activity, the Juneau Public Libraries received 53 different book reviews from 22 different young readers under the age of 18. Here is a summary of the top book reviews from this week\u2019s winners:<\/p>\n
From the Downtown Library:<\/p>\n
\u201cFrog and Toad All Year\u201d by Arnold Lobel: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is at Christmas toad was worried about frog in a hole.\u201d \u2014 Freyja Shelton, age 6.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Austere Academy\u201d by Lemony Snicket: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is how Vice Principal Nero forces his students to attend his 6 hour violin recitals when he doesn\u2019t even know how to play.\u201d \u2014 Kareena Bathija, age 13.<\/p>\n
\u201cHooray for Fish\u201d by Lucy Cousins: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is when the little fish finds her mom.\u201d \u2014 Shaden Jensen, age 4.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s Good That\u2019s Bad in the Grand Canyon\u201d by Margery Cutler: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is when the helicopter reaches him up.\u201d \u2014 Makiah Jensen, age 7.<\/p>\n
