The Juneau Police Department is conducting a death investigation for a body found near the Auke Bay Ferry Terminal, said police spokesperson.<\/p>\n
JPD received a call about the body at roughly 1 p.m. on Tuesday, said Lt. Krag Campbell in an email.<\/p>\n
“JPD is conducting a death investigation in the wooded area across from the ferry terminal,” Campbell said. “No identification of the deceased has been made.”<\/p>\n
It appeared that the body had been there for some time, Campbell said.<\/p>\n
“(It’s) difficult to say if it is suspicious or not,” Campbell said. “(There was) nothing immediately recognizable as suspicious. Other than it shouldn’t be normal for a body to be in the woods.”<\/p>\n
