Alaskans will have the opportunity to call with comments for the Alaska Redistricting Board at 10 a.m. Wednesday and Saturday, with most regions of the state each being given an hour of priority call-in time.<\/p>\n

For Southeast Alaska, Prince William Sound and Kodiak, public comment can be given between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. both Wednesday and Saturday, according to the Alaska State Legislature.<\/p>\n

All Members of the public are invited to call at whatever time is convenient, but callers from the scheduled region will be prioritized during the indicated times, according to the Legislature. <\/p>\n

The initial draft revisions released by the board were met with criticism from several Democratic lawmakers, including Juneau’s two state representatives, Reps. Andi Stroy and Sara Hannan.<\/p>\n

Under the latest proposal from the redistricting board Auke Bay and north of the ferry terminal would be in the same district as downtown Juneau and Douglas and would put Story in Hannan’s district, thus removing her from office without election.<\/p>\n
