The United Fishermen of Alaska kicked off their Salmon Habitat Information Program (SHIP) this week by opening an online opinion survey for commercial fishermen and their families. UFA hopes the SHIP program will be a \u201cvaluable resource for info about the health of salmon habitat,\u201d UFA board member and program manager Lindsay Bloom stated in a press release.<\/p>\n
UFA \u201cinvite(s) all Alaska fishermen or family members to steep the SHIP project by taking a short survey on what\u2019s important about salmon habitat,\u201d Bloom said. \u201cUFA wants to recognize the wisdom and knowledge fishermen have about their fishing grounds.\u201d <\/p>\n
Survey participants will be entered in a drawing for a $500 Alaska Airlines or $200 LFS gift card. Additional entries will be given to people who like the SHIP Facebook page and share the survey socially.<\/p>\n
