Numbers come from reports from the City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, as well as updates from the Alaska Coronavirus Response Hub and City and Borough of Juneau COVID-19 Dashboard. The city and state will begin providing COVID-19 data updates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays instead of daily. COVID at a glance will follow that schedule.<\/em><\/p>\n Local numbers for Jan. 5-6<\/p>\n Alert level:<\/strong>Modified high<\/p>\n New cases: <\/strong>199 residents, 3 nonresidents<\/p>\n Test positivity rate:<\/strong> 17%<\/p>\n Cumulative cases:<\/strong> 4,704 residents and 325 nonresidents<\/p>\n Current hospitalizations: <\/strong>0<\/p>\n New deaths: <\/strong>0<\/p>\n Cumulative deaths:<\/strong> 17 residents, 1 nonresident<\/p>\n Vaccination information:<\/strong> 83 % of Juneau’s eligible population (79% overall) has received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 78% of eligible Juneau residents (74% overall) have completed a full vaccination series.<\/p>\n State numbers for Jan. 5-6<\/p>\n Alert level: <\/strong>High<\/p>\n New cases:<\/strong> 3,534 residents, 106 nonresidents<\/p>\n Test positivity rate:<\/strong> 18.75%<\/p>\n Cumulative cases: <\/strong>158,436 residents and 5,917 nonresidents<\/p>\n Current hospitalizations:<\/strong> 74<\/p>\n New deaths: <\/strong>1<\/p>\n Cumulative deaths: <\/strong>948 residents, 32 nonresidents<\/p>\n Vaccination information: <\/strong>67.8% of Alaska’s eligible population ( 60.6% overall) has received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 63.4% of eligible Alaskans (56.6% overall) have completed a full vaccination series.<\/p>\n
