Durant finalizes two-year deal with the Warriors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>OAKLAND, Calif. <\/strong>\u2014 Splash: Kevin Durant\u2019s big move to the Golden State Warriors is done.<\/p>\n<p>The Warriors formally announced the signing of the six-time All-Star selection on Thursday and introduced him with fanfare during a news conference at the team\u2019s downtown Oakland practice facility, where screens read, \u201cWELCOME KD TO DUB NATION.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Durant said his meeting with the Warriors\u2019 brass last Friday in the Hamptons \u2014 a contingent that also included the Splash Brothers of MVP Stephen Curry and All-Star Klay Thompson \u2014 had a \u201cgreat vibe throughout the whole day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been hectic,\u201d Durant said. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of attention that comes with being in this position. I felt as comfortable as I ever felt. &#8230; It was organic, it was authentic, it was real. It was a feeling I couldn\u2019t ignore. &#8230; I\u2019m just ready to play ball.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Durant, a four-time scoring champion, stepped onto the podium to big cheers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t made the decision yet, but he might start,\u201d NBA Coach of the Year Steve Kerr joked, sitting next to a smiling Durant.<\/p>\n<p>Durant announced his decision Monday in a story on \u201cThe Players\u2019 Tribune,\u201d then Thursday marked the first day free agents could sign their deals. He joins the NBA runner-up Warriors \u2014 who rallied from 3-1 down to beat Durant\u2019s former Oklahoma City Thunder in a thrilling seven-game Western Conference Finals before losing the finals in seven games to Cleveland \u2014 on a two-year contract worth more than $54 million. There is a player option after the first year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou never expect to get this much better,\u201d Warriors general manager Bob Myers said. \u201c&#8230; I\u2019m just excited to watch you play.
