The Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska will hold a job fair on Friday from 1-4 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Twelve local companies will be in attendance. Central Council members will also be able to take advantage of breakout sessions for resume writing, social media use and a “fun” session about career choices with visiting job coach Katreena Hayes-Wood.<\/p>\n
Grace Hawkins, of Central Council’s 447 E&T department, the job fair is all about “employability skills.”<\/p>\n
“That’s our goal to get people self-sufficient through all of our programs. We thought if we hosted this conference that would give them tools that would help them in the future,” Hawkins said.<\/p>\n
It’s the first year CCTHITA has held a job fair.<\/p>\n
