{"id":82474,"date":"2022-03-03T22:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-04T07:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/man-involved-in-fatal-fall-indicted-for-murder\/"},"modified":"2022-03-03T22:30:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T07:30:00","slug":"man-involved-in-fatal-fall-indicted-for-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/man-involved-in-fatal-fall-indicted-for-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Man involved in fatal fall indicted for murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man involved in an altercation that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/police-1-dead-1-arrested-after-altercation-fall-at-shelter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">led to a death last weekend<\/a> was indicted Friday on a murder charge. <\/p>\n<p>Tommy Floyd Bowers, 59, was indicted on a charge of second-degree murder and felony manslaughter by a grand jury.<\/p>\n<p>The charges stem from an incident last Friday night in which Bowers confronted Earl Saunders McKinley, 54, who was acting in an aggravating manner toward Bowers, according a police. Both men were residents of the Glory Hall, a soup kitchen and shelter in the Mendenhall Valley. <\/p>\n<p>During an argument McKinley was pushed and then fell out an open second-story window, striking his head, according to police. He was medevaced to Seattle, but was unable to be resuscitated.<\/p>\n<p>Bowers was charged at the time of the initial incident with felony second-degree assault. Bowers is being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center, with bail set at $50,000.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8226; Contact reporter Michael S.
