A Yakutat woman is in custody following a fatal vehicle rollover, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
The rollover, which involved a single vehicle, occurred on the evening of April 30, according to a Yakutat Department of Public Safety news release.<\/p>\n
The driver, Erica Totland, was arrested and charged with felony second-degree murder, three counts of felony third-degree assault and one count of driving under the influence. She’s currently in custody at Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau, according to the safety department.<\/p>\n
The rollover happened around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday on Forest Highway 10 about 2 miles from Yakutat, according to the safety department. Yakutat Police, Fire and EMS responded.<\/p>\n
Five people were in the vehicle, according to the safety department, all of whom were injured. Anton Eriksson later died of his injuries.<\/p>\n
“One other occupant was evacuated by air to Anchorage,” according to the news release. “Two occupants were treated and released.”<\/p>\n
Totland is scheduled to appear in court in Juneau for a preliminary hearing on May 11.<\/p>\n
