Dear reader, you need to run for the Alaska Legislature. <\/p>\n
Seriously. <\/p>\n
For example, on the Kenai Peninsula we\u2019ve got three socialists representing us right now and they are going to ruin us. They\u2019re the bad kind \u2014 corporate socialists \u2014 who passively watch the \u201cfree market\u201d ravage families but then rush to grab a Kleenex when one of their corporate benefactors sneezes.<\/p>\n
Our state lawmakers\u2019 priorities are hopelessly warped. These aren\u2019t bad people; it\u2019s just that they are governing while impaired \u2014 impaired by their love for power, wealth and recognition, and they can\u2019t bring themselves to see how their actions are destroying our community.<\/p>\n
We need high-minded, ethical people to change the laws that permit legislators to vote on matters that affect them personally. And we need intelligent people who understand that Alaska\u2019s economy will only thrive if our people are healthy, well educated and paid enough so that they can survive without government handouts.<\/p>\n
If the Legislature isn\u2019t your cup of tea, please consider running for office at any level \u2014 local, state or federal.<\/p>\n
