Authorities are working to identify a suspect responsible for Faith Rogers’ death, according to Juneau Police Department spokesperson Erann Kalwara.<\/p>\n

The 55-year-old Juneau woman was discovered near Kaxdigoowu Héen Dei, also known as Brotherhood Bridge Trail, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, prompting a homicide investigation by the Juneau Police Department.<\/p>\n

Kalwara said in a Friday afternoon email that JPD is working with the State Crime Lab and the Medical Examiner’s office to identify a suspect and is continuing to accept information from the public related to activity on the trail or other information that may impact the investigation.<\/p>\n

Kalwara stated the police have yet to receive the final autopsy report. JPD has not yet announced a cause of death.<\/p>\n

In a previous email to the Empire, Kalwara said an autopsy was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 23 at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage. She said autopsy results often take 6-8 weeks, but stated preliminary results may come sooner depending on how the examination goes.<\/p>\n

She stated JPD encourages the public to consider that they could come in contact with the person responsible for Faith Roger’s death due to the unsolved status of the case.<\/p>\n

“Personal safety precautions such as being aware of surroundings (not distracted by gadgets), traveling on well-known, well lit routes, traveling in pairs or groups and immediately leaving uncomfortable or potentially unsafe situations are always good ideas,” she stated.<\/p>\n
