{"id":91949,"date":"2022-10-10T22:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-11T06:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/capital-transit-temporary-closes-two-route-stops\/"},"modified":"2022-10-11T18:14:23","modified_gmt":"2022-10-12T02:14:23","slug":"capital-transit-temporary-closes-two-route-stops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/capital-transit-temporary-closes-two-route-stops\/","title":{"rendered":"Capital Transit temporarily closes two route stops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Capital Transit is closing some stops.<\/p>\n<p>The city announced in a news release that Capital Transit routes 3 and 4 stops along Davis Avenue and Lemon Creek Road will be closed until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>The closure is due in part to the current road construction and related delays a part of the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities&rsquo; Glacier Highway improvements project happening in the area, according to the city.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Ross, Capital Transit Superintendent, said the closure is only temporary and not due to a staffing shortage. He said residents can likely expect the routes to go back into service sometime in late October, but said he couldn&rsquo;t give a specific date.<\/p>\n<p>He said Capital Transit will continue to provide service through the Lemon Creek neighborhood along Glacier Highway.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8226; Contact reporter Clarise Larson at clarise.larson@juneauempire.com or (651)-528-1807.
