A Juneau grand jury handed down a pair of indictments Friday to two men in separate felony burglary and theft cases.<\/p>\n
Anthony B. Kalk, 30, was charged with three counts of second-degree theft and one count of first-degree burglary. According to the charging documents, he stole a rifle, handgun and other property from a Juneau residence on May 2.<\/p>\n
Second-degree theft is a class C felony that can carry a punishment of up to five years in prison. First-degree burglary is a class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n
Kalk made his first court appearance on May 4 during an arraignment in Juneau District Court, but his case will now be moved to Juneau Superior Court. His next court appearance was not listed in court records.<\/p>\n
Michael R. Walker, 26, was indicted on four burglary and theft charges Friday as well. Charging documents allege that Walker\u2019s offenses stemmed from a burglary on April 15.<\/p>\n
Walker\u2019s burglary charges are first-degree burglary and first-degree aiding and abetting burglary, both class B felonies. He also faces a second-degree theft and second-degree theft by receiving charge, both which are class C felonies.<\/p>\n
Walker, too, made his first court appearance during an arraignment May 4. His next court appearance in Superior Court has not been scheduled yet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
