Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé and Thunder Mountain High School softball teams are currently seeking local businesses interested in participating in the school’s coin drives by collecting change.<\/p>\n
According to JDHS head coach Lexie Razor, between May 1-12 jars will be dropped off by Razor and businesses should reach out to her personally at lexierazor@gmail.com. All funds raised will go to Cancer Connection, which serves all of Southeast Alaska.<\/p>\n
The coin drives are all leading up to Saturday, May 13 when JDHS and TMHS Softball programs will host a Cancer Awareness Game Series at Melvin Park and Dimond Park Field No. 4.<\/p>\n
“We’ve done fundraiser games in different years, but this is the first year that we’ve done a Cancer Awareness event at least in a couple of years,” Razor said. “This is also the first time that we’ve done a larger event with all of the teams from every region. We currently have a goal of raising $3,000.”<\/p>\n
Both Ketchikan High School along with Sitka High School will be in Juneau for a total of eight different games played throughout the day against the Crimson Bears and Falcons JV and varsity teams. JV game times are 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. varsity game times areat 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Razor said there will be T-shirt sales, a dessert auction, coin drive, as well as lots of games to attend.<\/p>\n
“I think it will be a great event,” Razor said. “We might be doing some activities in between the games, specifically between the morning and evening games, so people can stay posted on the Facebook page.”<\/p>\n
JDHS travels to Sitka this Thursday and Friday to play against Sitka High School for both conference and non-conference games. TMHS travels to North Pole for the Rally in the Valley tournament against North Pole High School.<\/p>\n
