Capital city baseball teams went down in the Region V Baseball Regional Tournament, Friday at Adair-Kennedy Field.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
In a battle of undefeated tournament teams Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé fell to the Sitka Wolves 9-2 and in an elimination game Thunder Mountain High School was toppled by the Ketchikan Kings 8-2.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
Against JDHS, Sitka put three runs across to open the game. Sophomore Tanner Steinson reached on an error with two outs, junior Grady Smith reached on another error, senior Bridger Bird walked. Sophomore courtesy runner Tyson Bartolaba entered for Smith and freshman courtesy runner Emmit Johnson for Bird. Senior Ben Turner singled to right field scoring Steinson and Bartolaba and sophomore Chance Coleman singled to left field scoring Johnson for a 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
The Crimson Bears scored one run in the bottom of the first inning as Lamar Blatnick doubled to left field, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on another errant delivery. JDHS added their second run in the bottom of the third inning as Finn Kesey hit a one out single, advanced on a walk to Blatnick and a sacrifice by Eli Crupi and scored on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
Sitka put a run across in the top of the fifth inning with Bird sacrificing in senior Dylan Marx. The Wolves added five runs in the top of the sixth with Coleman, sophomore Bryce Calhoun, freshman Brett Ross, Steinson and Smith crossing the plate.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
Blatnick led JDHS with two hits, Bodhi Nelson and Kesey added one apiece. Blatnick, Joe Aline, Luke Dean and Kesey earned one walk each.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
