AWARE thanks Wells Fargo and United Way

Thanks from Aiding Women in Abuse and Rape Emergencies (AWARE), Inc. to United Way of Southeast Alaska for organizing another successful Day of Caring, and to Juneau’s Wells Fargo Bank employees who volunteered a day of service on Oct. 1. Seven employees arrived with enthusiasm, and donated their time and energy to deep clean our emergency safe shelter deck, kitchen, recycling room and more.

Wells Fargo Bank volunteers focused on cleaning our refrigerators, cabinets and industrial-sized stove and oven, as well as cleaning and organizing our recycling room. A crew of motivated and hardworking volunteers, they worked floor to ceiling to ensure these high-use areas received the detailed attention they needed to truly shine. They mopped our deck, transforming it from grimey and mossy to clean and safe. Their volunteerism fulfilled a need for clean, organized, fresh and renewed spaces. The impact was immediately tangible.

AWARE’s staff and residents of our safe shelter offer heartfelt thanks to Wells Fargo bankers for their service. We are extremely grateful for your partnership and support of our work to end violence and oppression in Juneau and Southeast Alaska, and the many ways in which it manifests. As if United Way’s Day of Caring wasn’t enough, they also presented Girls on the Run staff with a check for $2,500 in support of our Girls on the Run empowerment program. Your presence has a significant impact on our ability to provide services, both intervention and prevention programs.

Thank you Wells Fargo. We couldn’t do it without you!

Saralyn Tabachnick,

executive director,

AWARE, Inc.
