Cale Mead grew up all over western Wisconsin. Because his mother, Dawn, was a nurse, and his father, Chris, served in the Army, Mead lived in many different towns. But church, Christian schools, and family (one brother and two sisters) were constant blessings in his life. After confirmation, Mead attended Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin and was encouraged to pursue a career in gospel ministry. Here he also met his future wife, Lauren (née Gross).

He attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, graduated, got married, and then took a little detour to teach English and God’s word to people in China. A one-year commitment became three years before Mead and his wife Lauren returned to the U.S. There, he finished his pastoral training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. During his Seminary training, he served the congregation at Lord of Life in Thornton, Colorado as their vicar. God has blessed the Meads with a daughter, Amelia, 2, and they are expecting their second child in late January.

Pastor Mead loves fishing, football, hiking, camping, good movies, coffee and the opportunity to preach and teach Christ crucified to the people of Juneau. Pastor and Lauren can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for them in beautiful Juneau with a wonderful congregation!
