Coppa crowns coloring contest champ

Twelve-year-old Dominic Hall, won Coppa’s 2020 Halloween Coloring Contest, the Juneau business announced in early November.

“I’m glad to win the prize. I’m very proud of my picture. I look forward to having Coppa ice cream, and I thank Coppa for doing this,” Hall said in a news release.

For his efforts, Hall won a $50 Coppa gift card.

“We wanted to do something for Juneau’s kids, and make up for the lack of trick or treating this year,” said Marc Wheeler, co-owner of the coffee and hand-made ice cream shop, in the release. “Plus it’s fun to have all of the youth art decorating our cafe.”

Coppa received more than 70 entries of colored pumpkin drawings from youths throughout Juneau. The winner was chosen by the most number of likes over social media last week. Entries can be viewed in Coppa’s windows and dining room over the next few weeks.

“We’re hoping this contest becomes an annual tradition,” Wheeler said. “And we are planning a snowflake contest coming up soon.”
