The Juneau Mountain Bike Alliance has organized a volunteer work day at the site of the new mountain bike trail at Eaglecrest Ski Area from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. As a result, the trail will be closed during the aforementioned hours.
The group will be tuning and buffing out the upper trail section, according to a post on the group’s Facebook page, with a dump truck load of dirt. In addition, volunteers may construct a table or hip jump after the third berm and will be fixing a few small soft spots farther down.
Following the work session, the trail will reopen around 1:30 p.m.
The lower third of the trail was completed in late August and is currently open to riding.
