During the month of March Super Bear IGA and Foodland IGA / Ace Hardware customers donated over $4,700 to United Way of Southeast Alaska by rounding up their change at the end of each transaction.

“Needless to say, I genuinely appreciate your support and I truly appreciate the extra effort on our behalf. It makes a huge difference to have your support,” said Wayne Stevens, president and CEO of United Way of Southeast Alaska in a news release.

Each month Super Bear IGA and Foodland IGA are giving the customers the option to round up their change to local charities.

“Thanks to all of our great customers, they have been very generous since the start of the program donating to local charities, the month of April customers will be able to round up for the Southeast Alaska Food Bank,” said Rick Wilson, Foodland store director, in the release.
