Hansen and Reed wed

Kelly Jeanette Hansen and David Darrel Joseph Reed, both of Juneau, were married July 21, 2018, on a bluebird day at the Shrine of St. Therese in Juneau surrounded by 150 family and friends.

The bride is the daughter of Vince and Jansy Hansen of Haines. A graduate of Haines High School and the University of Alaska Fairbanks, she is currently employed as school counselor for the Juneau School District.

The groom is the son of Kevin and Susan Johnson of Juneau, and Art and Annette Reed of Anchorage. He graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School and Montana State University, and is employed as a microcomputer/network specialist at Legislative Affairs for the State of Alaska.

The wedding officiant was Father Mike Galbraith, a pastor at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Juneau. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Christine Hansen, and the matron of honor was her sister, Ann Klausner. Mary Berry, a childhood friend, was a bridesmaid. Bryan Zepp, a friend of the groom, was the best man, and friends Inua Blevins and Brandon Hauser were groomsmen. Liz Wall, who the bride met while volunteering in India for six months, and Zach Kahl, who went to film school with the groom, were readers.

The reception was held at the Juneau Yacht Club and featured local band Susu and the Prophets. They had signature cocktails, Haines beer, fireworks and lots of dancing.

The couple honeymooned in Budapest and Croatia.
