Hasty Half Marathon gives thanks for fundraising success

We would like to thank each and every one of you who came out and participated in the 7th annual Hasty Half Fun Run. Thanks to all of your generous donations we raised $3,500 for the Juneau Suicide Prevention Coalition in honor of Chase Johnson, Skylar Engle and Kathy Peterson. The JSPC works to unite organizations within our community to raise awareness and provide information and access to resources for those who are suffering, and also to offer hope and support for wellness for a brighter future.

The amazing support and positive energy were infectious amongst the runners and volunteers. This sense of community, wonderful friendships, and the joy of running are all what make living in Juneau so special.

We tallied over 100 runners in the half marathon alone, as well as more than 75 participants in the 5k and one mile and nearly as many volunteers, all of whom came out and rallied for this cause, in spite of the rainy weather.

We would like to express a very sincere thank you to all who ran, walked, organized, supported, donated — we appreciate every gesture extended for this worthy cause.

A special thank you to Southeast Road Runners for their continued support, Heritage Coffee, Becoming Images, Louie’s Douglas Inn and NorthStar Trekking — your help and support with this was immeasurable and resulted in another successful Hasty Half Fun Run event.

Thank you all so much for making this event so fun and such a huge success!

Shannon Hasty,
