Helping Hands fundraising dinner, auction set for Aug. 5

Helping Hands will be having its annual dinner and auction on Aug. 5. It will be at Valley Church, 9741 Mendenhall Loop Road.

Dinner and silent auction starts at 5 p.m., and the live auction starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 each with a discount price for kids. If you need a ticket, just give us a call and we will deliver them to you. Please call 209-1275 for tickets or if you have something to donate to the auction.

For people wondering what to donate on a regular basis to us, we recommend nonperishable foods such as canned fruits, vegetables, meat, rice and pasta. Please call me and we will make arrangements to pick up, or to have items dropped off at Helping Hands. Most of our perishables come from local grocery stores.

We have about 30 committed volunteers working with Helping Hands.

Helping Hands is a member of United Way. We serve about 400 people a week. Anyone needing food can come to our warehouse when we are open. There are no forms to fill out and no questions asked. We are located at 6590 Glacier Highway in Switzer Village mobile home park’s Recreation Hall. The hours are 5:30-6:50 p.m.

I would like to thank everyone who donates to us during the year.

Betty Kaplor,

Director of Helping Hands
