Jensen-Olson Arboretum thanks Juneau

The Friends of Jensen-Olson Arboretum hosted a fifth wine-tasting Arboretum fundraiser Aug. 26 at Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure. Over 150 guests enjoyed beer and wine tasting, delicious food and camaraderie in the festive atmosphere of beautiful Glacier Gardens. Typical of Juneau’s generosity, many individuals are responsible for this successful fundraising effort.

The Friends of Jensen-Olson Arboretum especially thank Cindy and Steve Bohay of Glacier Gardens, Suzanne Sanford and the Hangar on the Wharf, K&L Distributors, Odom Corp., Specialty Imports, Alaska Brewing Co. and Alaska Laundry for making the event happen. Flower arrangements by Kelly Jensen and music from Jim Noel, Doug Bridges and Clay Good added to the enjoyable evening of tasting and shopping among an array of items on the silent auction tables.

Thanks to all of our guests and silent auction contributors and bidders. Contributors to the auction include: 8th Wonder Fountain of Youth Private Spa, Alaska Seaplanes; Debi Ballam and Mark Schwan; Shirley Campbell; Cedar Salon; Pamela Finney; Brent Fischer, City and Borough of Juneau, Parks and Recreation; Peter Froehlich and Elsa Demeska; Sharon Gaiptman; Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tram; MJ Grande, Sharron Lobaugh; Pavitt Health and Fitness; Natalee Rothaus; Paula Savikko; Thyes Schaub; Spiral Studios; Michael Stark; Chef Stef; Timi Tullis; Jan Wrentmore and Wings Airways.

Contributors of the many garden-themed items, landscaping consultations, harvest baskets and organic produce were Malin Babcock, Morgan Davis, Ed’s Edible Landscaping, Pat Harris, Val Hillyer, Merrill Jensen, Mary Lou King, Iris Korhonen-Penn, Landscape Alaska, Orsi Organics, Riverside Herbs, Deb Rudis and John Thedinga.

Thanks again to all contributed to the success of this biennial event to support Juneau’s public garden. Please join us for our next wine and beer tasting in 2018. In the meantime see you at the Arboretum.

Cheers,

Kim Garnero,

Treasurer Friends Jensen-Olson Arboretum
