The Juneau Suicide Prevention Coalition would like to thank Shannon Hasty for her generous contribution. Shannon organized the Hasty Half race on Sept. 27, raising more than $3,500 to donate to the coalition.
The Hasty Half has been occurring for eight years. Every year, Shannon identifies a different organization/cause/family to donate the proceeds from the race. This year the Hasty Half included 105 runners who completed the half marathon, 75 who did the 5K or one mile. Approximately 50 volunteers donated their time to help organize the event.
Shannon describes the event as an “annual run to celebrate the community, friendship and the joy of running.”
