Juneau Symphony thanks concert contributors

We at the Juneau Symphony wish to express our gratitude for a wonderful benefit concert that occurred last week. On Tuesday, Aug. 9, a talented and energetic young fiddler named Caitlin Warbelow, along with her band (Kevin Crawford on flute and Patrick Doocey on guitar) entertained an enthusiastic crowd at Rockwell Ballroom.

Warbelow hails from Fairbanks but she has an international reputation in Irish fiddling circles, and has a huge following in Juneau due to her many Alaska Folk Fest appearances. The concert was the idea of Dr. Theresa Shanley and her family, along with Southeast Radiology Consultants, who sponsored the concert. They told us that they were eager to give back to the community of Juneau, and they did so in spectacular fashion. They set up the whole event and enlisted help from generous people like Cyndi Isaak of Suite 907; management and staff at Rockwell; Keith Giles, sound engineer, and many others. We are so grateful!

We had a great time listening to Caitlin and the band, and the proceeds, over $4,000, will go a long way toward assuring a wonderful 2016-17 Juneau Symphony concert season. Thanks to all who attended and all the wonderful contributors who made this event possible. We are all most grateful!
