League of Women Voters gives thanks for fundraising success

On Oct. 14, the League of Women Voters of Juneau held its second annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Fundraiser. We raised $2,284.15 to help fund local voter service projects: educating and registering voters, and encouraging citizens to actively participate in government.

We would like to thank the businesses who made the evening event successful: Rockwell for providing the gallery and catering; Rob Cohen for the classy music; and Specialty Imports of Alaska and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits for providing the amazing wines.

And a heartfelt thank you to the incredible business and individuals who donated silent auction items: A Certain Charm, Abby O’Brien, Alaska Travel Adventures, Alaskan Brewing Co., Baranof Capital Café, Bridget Smith, carolyn and George Brown, Cycle Alaska, Joe McCabe, Judy Andree, Juneau Lyric Opera, Karen Mitchell, Kindred Post, Loren Jones, Magic Nails Spa, Marianne Mills, Margo Waring, Nadine Lefebvre, Nugget Alaskan Outfitter, Pat Watt, Rejuvenation Salon & Spa and Wingnut Auto Salon.

Thank you to Chris Niemi and Marianne Mills for donating their time during the event, George Brown for renting the projector, Board members who sold tickets and those of you who attended and bid on auction items. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Kim Andree,

Treasurer, League of Women Voters of Juneau
