Proposals due for joint fish, game board

The deadline to submit proposals to change how Alaska’s Fish Board and Board of Game advisory committees operate is approaching. Alaskans have by May 1 to submit proposals. Statewide, 84 advisory committees inform board decisions.

Regulations up for change can be found in Alaska statute, 5 AAC Chapters 96 and 97, which includes the following topics: establishment and distribution of local fish and game advisory committees; advisory committee membership makeup and qualifications; uniform rules of operation for advisory committee meetings; advisory committee areas of jurisdiction for emergency closures; procedures for developing fish and game regulations and emergency petition and subsistence proposal policies.

The joint board last met in October 2013 to make regulatory adjustments to this program. Proposals received by the May 1 deadline will be considered by the joint board at its meeting scheduled for March 21-25, 2019 in Anchorage.

Proposals may be submitted online or by mail or fax at:

Online: www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=process.jointboard
