Alaska Committee elects board members

The Alaska Committee elected new directors and reviewed the year’s accomplishments during a Jan. 23 meeting, the committee announced.

Reelected to the board were Wayne Jensen of Jensen Yorba Wall, Kara Holatz with Airlift Northwest, Mary Becker, retired, and Dru Fenster of Spectrum Design Alaska. Newly elected was Cordova Pleasants, owner of the downtown business, Resolute Boutique & Lifestyles. All will serve three-year terms.

In a subsequent board meeting, the following officers were elected for a one-year term: Wayne Jensen, chairman; Rosemary Hagevig, vice chair; Win Gruening, secretary; and Connie Hulbert, treasurer.

The Alaska Committee was formed in 1995 and has the primary purpose of enhancing Juneau as Alaska’s capital city. Probably most well-known for the annual Legislative Welcome Reception in January, the committee has initiated numerous projects that have enhanced access to the capital and improved communications throughout the state.
