Taku Tattoo made it possible for Relay for Life of Juneau, team Keep Fighting, to hold a tattoo fundraiser on Feb. 27. Participants selected from a variety of cancer awareness ribbons and colors, and up to one inspirational word for a minimum donation of $50.
The event raised $1,100! Team Keep Fighting would like to thank Taku Tattoo artists Mario Singh and Jack Reed, as well as all of the participants getting tattoos. The artists dedicated the entire day for this fundraiser and donated all of the money received to Relay for Life of Juneau.
Relay for Life is the largest, worldwide fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Funds raised are used to provide free local services and fund research for all types of cancer. Relay is the celebration of survivors and caregivers; and of our year-long fundraising efforts and will take place June 3-4 at Riverbend School. This is a community event with activities planned for the entire 18-hour period. The public is encouraged to join or start a team in the fight against cancer.
Juneau Relay is an opportunity to celebrate those individuals, and their caregivers, who are winning the fight against cancer. Planned activities for survivors and caregivers include free dinner and breakfast, commemorative T-shirts and gifts, special laps and other activities.
Other events planned for all: luminaria ceremony to remember loved ones lost and honor those winning and/or battling the disease, themed laps, activities for all ages, entertainment, 5K/1M race and waffle feed.
