SERRC thanks Mudrooms

Thank you Mudrooms! The vision and hard work of your all volunteer board allows us Juneau folks to escape to an extra large living room, also known as Northern Light United Church, to listen to lovely live music while peeking into the lives of our friends and neighbors.

Stories told by each of the storytellers go straight to the heart — the stories are always interesting, often making the crowd swell with laughter and sometimes moving listeners to tears.

Best of all, Mudrooms, you contribute 100 percent of your profits to local organizations.

For the last four months, Mudrooms proceeds have gone to helping our students at The Learning Connection (TLC) with their bus passes, study materials, sustenance and testing fees. Students come to our center with goals of getting a job, improving their job, learning computer skills, learning English as a second language, increasing their reading, writing and math skills and/or attaining their GED.

TLC also wants to recognize the contributions of Coppa’s coffee and cookies from The Rookery / Panhandle Provisions. They are giving neighbors making our evenings at Mudrooms some of the best entertainment in town!

We’re eagerly awaiting the first Mudrooms of 2016, and hope to see you there!

The next Mudrooms will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 13, starting at 7 p.m. at Northern Light United Church.
