Thank you CCFR for saving us from nearby fire

Thank You letters for Jan. 6, 2019.

• We are so appreciative of our 911 dispatchers and firefighters who assisted in responding to and putting out the exploding wall of fire that sprang up early this New Year’s morning when a neighbor parked his truck and flatbed trailer piled with leftover fireworks in front of our house. Without the help of these professionals and trained volunteers, we might have lost our vehicles and our home.

Thank you for taking your time at such an early hour of this holiday morning to come to our aid.

Luann McVey

• Helping Hands would like to thank the community for its support through the holidays. It means a lot to us when we get your support year after year. We are able to help many families with the cash donations we have been receiving and also the groceries we pick up at the stores on a day to day basis.

We would like to thank Super Bear Supermarket IGA, Fred Meyer, Foodland IGA and Northern Sales for their support. We also received cash donations during the holidays for purchasing turkeys and hams. Mendenhall Flying Lions Club donated $400, Women Of The Moose donated $1,000, Eagles donated $500 and are thankful for the private cash donations we received. We want to thank Anthony Gurule at Fred Meyer for allowing us to Christmas wrap at their store for extra income. We would like to thank Bartlett Regional Hospital for the year-after-year nonperishable food drive and the cash cards we received. We can’t forget a thank you to our wonderful volunteers who keep sorting and storing the groceries when they come into our warehouse.

We are always in need of nonperishable food items or cash donations to operate. Please give me a call at 789-4390 or contact us at P.O. Box 33721, Juneau, AK 99803. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support to our organization. We hope the new year is everything you want it to be. We are located at 6590 Glacier Highway, Switzer recreation hall. We are open Tuesdays and Fridays from 5:30-6:50 p.m.
