Thank you for making Community Health Forum a success
Cancer Connection’s Annual Community Health Forum was held in person for the first time in three years on 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Oct. 29, at Centennial Hall.
The keynotespeaker was Dr. Joanie Mayer Hope, an Anchorage-based gynecologic oncologist and the theme of the event was Thriving at Home: State of the Art Cancer Care in Alaska.
Dr. Hope’s presentation was a multi-media performance that included her band (Any Mountain Campfire) with professional vocalist, Melissa Mitchell, Misha Baskerville, and Kat Moore, singing original inspirational songs. Dr. Hope’s presentation included in-depth information regarding cancer care in Alaska using slides, videos, music and dancing as well as testimonials from cancer survivors. It was moving and powerful.
